googly for galoshes, my ultimate coolest ever dream job, & a clever little product from PB::updated::

Lately, I've been loving the galoshes trend that has hit the nation by storm. {no pun intended} I purchased two pair for my kiddos yesterday at Target, as I've been just hankering to deck them out in the coolest of galosh duds for months now, but I hadn't seen the right pair. Emmy and Aiden both flipped when they saw them on the rain boots aisle at Target. Now I want some for myself. That fun shiney texture takes me back to the days of Hello Kitty plastic mania and my favorite Cabbage Patch kid umbrella. Hello 80's nostalgia. I love the look with jeans, and with the weather we've been having, I think I could really "use" a pair...

I mean really. I would hate to be left stranded without a pair of rain boots to go puddle jumping in.

Because I DO puddle jump on a regular basis. {remember, I will no longer be pregnant anymore}

The only problem is...I just can't decide.

Here are some of my faves: feel free to vote.

Red and shiney with no heels = not too pretty woman. I mean if you're gonna wear golashes why wear black? GO all the way. By Earth Lite via Zappos.com

More from Zappos. War Eagle, baby. {I mean, we might as well while we're on the same hue...}

Red and navy ladybugs via Gabriella Rocha. I love that preppy nostalgic feel.

If you know me, then you know I had to throw one of my fave colors in there. Aqua polkas via Target. {More in my 25 dollar price range...}

More from Zappos. Don't you just adore the mustard yellow? It's so Paddington Bear! These might be my faves.

More preppy goodness from Target.

Where did I find these? Walmart, of all places. Sometimes, they up and surprise a gal.

More classic yellow. Zappos.

More fabulous polkadottage from Target. {if you can't tell yet, Target had quite the fabulous selection and price range}

Vote, please. I'm leaning toward the preppy little fish. Simple yet fun...

In other news...

I've most definitely found my DREAM JOB. The dream job of all dream jobs...

SHOPPING around the WORLD for ANTHROPOLOGIE. LE-HOLY-SIGH.

Spending other people's money NOT ONLY on things that I found to be absolutely fabulous but international artists' designs? HECK YEAH. If I could meet this man in person...oh the brains I could pick.

Flea markets in Paris? YES, please. Ya'll. Gotta go read. Oh so awesome. While you're over there, check out Kirstie Alley's home. She's quite the decorator. Nate did her kitchen. Tile to slobber over. If I were a rich actress from the 80's, my kitchen would totally rock like that, too.

And finally: Just a little something I found to be viciously clever...

You know those places in your house where you have clustered frames? And, if you're a mommy, you find yourself running a bit low on space? And if you're a mommy/designer/artist in an open home, there truly is no space at all? These little photo risers make it alllll better.

These will be going on my christmas list, since no one ever seems to know what to get me.

Happy drool fest!

they've gone belgium

Anyone checked out the new line at Restoration hardware? They've gone Belgium on all of us.

And I'm not talking about waffles.

I love it all. But it's like a secret love affair with something I can't afford...nor would I really purchase it even if I could afford it...or save up the moolah to make it happen...

I kind of think things have lots more charm when they're handmade, or salvaged purely by you, and not mass produced. Even though they say these things are limited quantity to justify the price tag, coffee tables like these have been around for a while. I think they were even more expensive due to the to the trade stuff before RH picked them up.

I'm adding this to my list of projects, and it will be going somewhere near the bottom...but I am in LOVE with this coffee table. I first spotted one like it in the movie Baby Mama. Yes, I pay attention to design when I watch movies. And I love the industrial look.

So, I think I know a welder. Basic angles. Can't be that hard to make. Too bad sparks and fire and hot metal scare me or you just might catch me in the garage making pieces of my own with one of those sexy masks.

And in the not so near future, this coffee table would look INCREDIBLE in my living room...

Again, I'm not so sure it would happen in THIS house, since we DO have a coffee table, but this one does make me swoon. So, I'm storing this idea away...

to be continued!!!

*I'm trying something different with this site...every time I have a new post, I'm switching up the order of the pages so people will know it's there...that, and you can now easily access projects by clicking on links to the left.

So click around. It won't kill you. ;)

monkey shirts, hardwoods, and decorative paper

Loving the Paul Frank shirts they now have for Target. Scored one for Malone, too. His shirt has a monkey with a pacie. I snapped this pic before the kids left for school. It's impossible to get one of all three, so here we are.

I'm loving these hardwood floors. You don't usually see treatments like this in the good ole south. One day, my peeps. One day. (paired with sea grass flooring and linen curtains..and...okay I'll stop now...)

Currently obsessed with: decorative paper. see these fun finds at the paper studio. I've decided to spiff up my dining room china cabinet a-la Malone's room but this time with paper. I'm trying to integrate some major blues. It's a work in progress. Anyway, you can order samples, etc. In the meantime, I am also planning on ordering the following cake print for my kitchen. It's only three dollars, and would be so precious in a homemade plexiglass frame. Another project soon to come...oh I have a sketchbook full. I just can't help myself. Maybe I should see someone about that.

dining room (I want a subtle hint of textured blue behind my cream plates. Something classic I can keep for a while...but if I don't it's totally easy to switch out...any tips on mounting it? I don't want to damage my china cabinet but was thinking of doing double sided tape and simply tacking it.)

print (aligned vertically) in a frame for the kitchen. I can always do veggies, too...

This would be the perfect pop for a room in need of some pattern...and CHEAP!!!

 really fun for a kid's room!

Seriously? can this get any cuter?

Your daughter's room called. It really wants this in a frame above the bed...

And your living room wants this one.

 my future gigantic closet in my future gigantic mansion will have this framed in it.

Are you pregos out there taking note? So presch on a nursery wall. yeah. I just said presch.

And last but not least...the graphic designer in me couldn't resist...

What are you waiting for? Go frame some, people!

backpack, backpack...

Yeah. Now you totally have that song stuck in your head, don't you? I'm on the hunt for the perfect little girly one. I know there are backpacks out there galore, but I'm kind of picky regarding design (as some of you may have noticed) so I'm on the search for the perfect one. We are sending Emerson to preschool this year...thought it would be good for her socially, etc. It's only three days a week for a few hours a day. So...onward to our search we go! Aiden had the perfect one last year...(oh my gosh he is so young in these pics!!!) and they have similar ones at gymboree.com this year if any of you are interested in getting your own dino backpack/lunchbox combo...in the meantime I'm on the hunt for a cool girly one.

This one is pretty precious from four peas designs.

Love this one from fleurville bags.

of course, I found a pattern on payloadz.com (but who wants to sew right now? Not I. Sometimes I get tired of making EVERYTHING. Sometimes its nice to blow some cash... when I can afford it. ;))

Em Tanner designs is super cute, but a little out of my price range...or should I say Jamin's...He just may kill me.

I found these two at the warmbiscuit bedding company. These are super cute as well...

But I think I have a winner...

Four peas also makes this preppily luscious and fabulously affordable backpack and lunch box combo. I'll take these with a monogram, please.

I have an obsession with old mismatched china. I didn't register for any when I was married, and am SOOO glad i didn't (opted for some fun funky every day instead) and now I must start collecting said old china so I can have some mucho fun tea parties or somethins...

Via Domino: I think a lot of these posts have a recurring theme: If you haven't noticed yet, aquas and greens are my fave colors. They never get old to me, and offer a nice relaxing vibe to a home. LOVE this wonderful touch of color to a door! Way to funktify, oh blessed home owner of Domino days of yore that I can no longer identify! WHOOP WHOOP!

Hope these images inspire you like they did me!
