purging.

Have you ever had one of those weeks? I just did. The kids were overwhelming, the laundry is neverending, and to be completely honest, my house is a total trainwreck. It's anything but the lovely hammock scene above. I feel like this overwhelming mess is a reflection of my life right now. Jamin and I are just exhausted, and I'm now taking an impromptu vacay from the blawg until next week to refocus on a few things.

Ultimately, our house needs some serious purging so I can feel on top of things again. A gal can only juggle so much. I'm truly one of those "a place for everything and everything in it's place" kind of obsessive freaks, and I'm realizing just how smothering it all can be when it's not. I'm breaking out three bags of donate, store, and trash. Bring it. We're doing some hardcore work from the garage to the back porch and everything in between. I'll be back soon to tell you about the latest and greatest efficient plate stacking and clothing storage techniques. I'm sure waiting with baited breath is where you'll be. {Thats if I'm not discussing the last poopie diaper catastrophe, or the fact that some one was all up in my personal grill at the consignment sale. So I threw the latest catastrophe diaper in their face. That would be the only rational route to take, after all...}

Good luck! I know the feeling of being "off" when the house is just not like you want it.

Once again, you look so beautiful! I still can't belive you had a baby such a short time ago! Good luck with the purge - it's a long process but one I always enjoy.

I hope that you all will be able to get a breath of fresh air real soon. I love for everything to have its place, too. I am about to go bonkers because I haven't CLEANED my house in FOREVER and that little neat freak inside of me is screaming!!!

I love the pictures. The colors are so vivid! Best of luck!

My advice? Get rid of everything!!! (I'm not that good at giving advice.....obviously.)

Enjoy your hiatus! I will be waiting, cause ya know, I won't know what my next project is until you do it first! :)

Whoops. Forgot my crazy out of whack obsession. I don't really have one but my husband cannot stand clutter. It eats away at his very soul, however, the dish towel that he keeps laid out in front of the dog bowls doesn't bother him in the slightest. I don't get it. It is hideous, disgustingly dirty and the BANE OF MY EXISTENCE!!

Hang in there... the overwhelming feelings will subside.... when Malone is in preschool. :-) Kidding, it will get better soon.
Hope to see you guys soon!

I needed much order after two events in my life...the birth of my second child and the loss of Brad. I TOTALLY understand your need for order in a world that seems chaotic. Work towards it and you will feel a relief, I promise. I did. And I've maintained my (mostly) clutter-free lifestyle since January.
