nursery sneak preview...

So I'll be honest, I have absolutely nothing interesting to write about, as I have been completely obsessed with putting nursery no. 3 together. Why does she care, you may ask? Well, for one, distracting myself with design is the number one therapeutic action keeping me from jumping off the deep end, or even thinking of dealing with three kiddies all screaming at once. And secondly, we will be in our house for a while. Might as well make it fabulous...

I've been pretty busy with some projects for others, and some things for my own shop. I just finished this painting for my nephew...

And I've gone bloomin' flower crazy. (yeah, I just wrote that.) These will be listed in my shop by sunday. I love making these things!

And now onto fun baby things...

I changed my original design idea on fabric for the nursery to more of a pastel/patchwork approach. I am still working with spoonflower to get my samples in to make sure all the colors flow, and my wonderful Mother in Law who is super creative and fun to work with not to mention wonderfully kind to do my bedding yet AGAIN.

The bedding should have this kind of effect when we are finished! It's so neat to think its my own fabric making up the bedding! So much fun...

We decided on a classic, simple, and cheap jenny lind crib for the nursery...found one for 125 at toys r us! Emmy still has the sleigh and we are not moving her out any time soon! (SHE HAS SLEPT FOR SEVEN NIGHTS IN HER OWN BED, BTW. PRAISE)

But when I DO move her into a big girl bed, I will probably go classic Jenny all the way. Can't get enough of those spindles...and if we have another girl...think twin jenny's! {Images via domino and cookie via Making it Lovely} I think the twins are from Land of Nod. LOVE LOVE LOVE...

I would love to share some of the wonderful finds I scored at Ikea when my mom, sis and I took a trip to that fabulous mecca in Atl, but for now this pic of the two rugs I nabbed will have to do, until I put it all together!

I sat in one of these chairs when I was pregs with Aiden, and regretted not getting one ever since. I found one for super cheap on Ebay, cheaper than I ever imagined. Brand new, picked my own finish and everything. After nursing a sleepless child, I consider such things now completely worth it. It's like being enveloped by a giant pillow...its kind of grown on me. We've gone the classic chair route and I'm in loooooove. They're called puff chairs if anyone is interested...You can even switch out the slipcover later on

I found these reconstructed lamps on etsy, and knew I would ABSOLUTELY DIE if I did not have them. I had a milk glass lamp in my room growing up and it kind of disappeared when my parents moved so many times. I love this funky take on an old classic. I will be making shades from my fabric to compliment...check out this store!

And last but not least...I've slowly but surely been collecting M's for the nursery. I purchased a 12" from this artist last week, and cannot wait to see it!

I'm going for the whole look of old meets new meets eclectic...should be fun! Jamin is taking all next week off so we can tackle those pieces of furniture we have purchased from our local flea market...can't wait to show before and after pics of those. It will be a while before all this comes together, so...Wish us luck!!!

Everything seems to be coming together just perfectly!! I know I eagerly anticipate the finished project...I'm sure it's going to be as picturesque as your other fab retreats. I know I've said this a million times, but you are blessed with such fabulous talent!

Ashley, I'm one of Cristin's friends from Huntsville and I was wondering where you found the picture of the pink and green quilt baby bedding. We find out on Tuesday what we are having and I can't seem to find girl bedding that I love. Thanks!

Hey Ashley!

Do a search on Etsy for quilted baby bedding. I found a plethora of images, and unfortunately, didn't site this designer because I forgot where they came from! I highly advise Etsy. This goes to all of you out there who have never shopped there. DO IT. you won't regret it! ;) good luck, and let me know what you find!

Abbie-yes whenever you can, we would love to. So sorry Lily is sick again! She has had a rough go of it! I'll probs have the bows up by tonight. Its a lot of work to get all that jazz listed! ;)

Alright, I'm coming over this afternoon to climb into the rocking chair.... Of course, I may not be able to climb back out of it at this point! :)
