Back from Barbados...

 Yeah...I've been on a hiatus.

In Barbados.

Jamin had to work, so I went with my family (Don't worry, Jamin didn't get such a bad deal in the end...) Yes, I am crazy to fly with two small children for five (plus) hours in a plane, Yes, we survived (they really were angels) and yes, my hair looked like this the entire time.

I was a little worried when we scrambled into our first taxi and my father thanked the driver with a "Gracias" but alas, we all survived. It was definitely an adventure. I have quite a few pics I wanted to share, so this is the ultimate blog for all you skimmers out there.

Fish anyone? A true taste of Barbadian culture at the local Bridgetown fish market. Yummy. You can find everything here from MahiMahi to flying fish!

 People LIVE here. Yes, please.

Lobster Alive: The name was morbid to me, but it is one one of the most charming little places on the beach. And the lobster...MMMMMM! Aiden wasn't so sure what to think of the giant lobsters...

Aunt Didi and Emerson! Aiden in a cab.

Just a view from the road, next to the sugar cane fields. I'm seriously considering moving here.

One of the top ten most beautiful beaches in the world

Barbados was settled by the British in July 1605, and St. James Church, the oldest church on the Caribbean island, was built in 1628

We went on a daytime cruise to snorkel with sea turtles and a ship wreck. Aiden never got in the water...but the goggles made a priceless shot.

Aiden and my parents on the ship.

Our last day there it rained-But the kids had a great time in the water.

What fun!!! That is awesome that you were able to get away with the kids and your family. Loved looking at your pictures. I think that Aiden looks so big in that picture of him on the boat wearing his hat. Can Emerson get any cuter???

Okay, little miss thang, let me just tell you that you have a responsibility to your blog stalkers....I mean readers.....to let them know when you will be on hiatus. Being the obsessive-compulsive (read:caring and devoted) person that I am, I was starting to worry that something was wrong and you were avoiding the computer. Being the "glass is half full" kind of gal I am, I began imagining worst case scenarios. Didn't you even think about MY feelings???? (The temptation to pepper this with little sideways smiley faces so that you can smell the sarcasm is overwhelming....I....will.....fight....it.....)

Anyhoo, glad you had a great time and way glad you are back! I love the pictures!

These pictures make me so sad. I miss the bright blue water, I miss Fred the cab driver, I miss the spazz out sessions on the van, and I miss yall!!! Can we return to paradise now please?

Looks like the ideal way to spend the holidays to me! I'm hoping to get back into the blogging swing. I was on a forced hiatus caused by stomach viruses and the lot.. I just thought I would throw that in because I recall you having first hand experience with that recently.

Here's to a wonderful 2009!

Barbados?? My husband goes out of town and he dumps me at my sister's in Nashville without a car. You go to Barbados WITH babysitters (aka parents). I thought we were doing the whole freaky identical everyhthing thing... where did my copy-cat ju-ju go wrong with Barbados???

The pictures of the fish market are very interesting, but the photo of Aiden shirtless on the boat is a REAL CLASSIC!
