"NORMAL..."

As you all well know, I usually reserve this blog for the crazy, silly posts. But I had to share this bit of wonderful news we received yesterday. I am not even sure wonderful describes it. I also wanted to thank all of you who are still praying for us, and have been our warriors through this entire incident with Aiden. We had yet another appointment in Birmingham yesterday with the Neurosurgeon, and for the FIRST TIME IN HIS LIFE, Aiden's head is on a NORMAL BELL CURVE. Not "NORMAL FOR AIDEN," but "NORMAL FOR NORMAL!!!" ("Normal" for children his age.)

Praise God-we have so much to be thankful for. It's really quite astounding-It's so terrifying to learn something may be wrong with your child and its amazing to look back and see how far we have come in this informative little journey. The unanswered questions-they still remain-but its so awesome to know we are being taken care of, regardless of the outcome.

In short, the Hydrocephalus (though he still has fluid on his ventricles) has presented no symptoms and is currently considered benign. (They have been watching this since he was six months of age.)

The Chiari, which they discovered almost a year ago, they are still keeping an eye on (probably for the rest of his life) but Aiden is completely developmentally on track, and we just have so much to be thankful for. Thankful that we can keep an eye out for the symptoms. Thankful that we know what this condition is. Thankful that we don't have to encounter fifty million doctors, and thankful that we had a wonderful pediatrician who knew where to send us in the first place...the list goes on and on... This was my last post regarding things they were checking for Aiden. {Aiden's eye appointment in November also went fabulously. I can't remember if I updated any of you on that.}

Jamin and I caught this story on Good Morning America and were astounded at what some families go through. I urge you to watch this video-It also shows us how much, again, we have to be thankful for-I can't watch it without crying! {Yes, I am hormonal} It should show any parent with healthy children how much we all take the little things for granted.

I just wanted to share and thank everyone for their prayers! Hope everyone is having a wonderful week! Love you all.
