Limeaway

I have a serious issue. I simply cannot get enough limes. This photo makes me salivate. I'm averaging around three to four whole limes a day. Forget the usual suspects, of chocolate chip cookies and fried chicken. At first I started out as a natural remedy for nausea, {which, speaking of, if does not remedy itself soon, I may lose my mind.} You kind of forget your need to toss your cookies when you bite into something so sour with complete abandon.

And then I realized I had a problem. I eat them like oranges. Like candy. Sprinkled with salt. I break into a sweat. My mouth hurts. My stomach hurts. This baby is going to come out doing tequila shots. By far my most severe pregnancy craving EVER. Everyone keeps suggesting substitutes, which is a great notion in itself, but substitutes will not do.

Baby wants LIMES!!!! Someone, please tell me you've had odd cravings like this before!

During the first 18 weeks or so, I ate SO much pizza. I seriously wanted it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Guess what the one food is that Jackson likes more than any other? Pizza!

Are you guys going to find out what you are having?

I've heard of people craving laundry detergent...the grainy kind. I can't imagine that. However, I am glad that Avery did not come out looking like a tator tot or Braden looking like a pickle because that's all I ate while they were cooking.

You have to make the Barefoot Contessa's Frozen Key Lime Pie. You will LOVE it! It is on foodnetwork.com. Let me know if you can't find it and I will email it to you.

P.S. Do yourself a favor and buy a pre-made graham cracker crust.

No, Sunny, we are letting it be a surprise. It's the only time in my life I will get to do this (my LAST pregnancy) and it truly doesn't matter...so...surprise! I know I (the control freak) can do it!!!

I never had any really strong cravings, but with Aiden I felt that a McDonald's sausage/cheese biscuit and a coke was the ambrosia. I didn't have any cravings with Isaac, but since his birth I have been addicted to spicy food. I wasn't a big fan of it before. I swear, pretty soon I am going to start mainlining Sol Azteca's salsa.

At least limes won't make you gain weight, like, say, chocolate pie or chili cheese fries!

Ooohh...I love limes. But I can't say I've ever eaten them like an orange! Interesting. But hey - lots of Vitamin C, right? :-)

And Jamey - laundry detergent?? Yikes.

Mine was celery. The strange part of that is I loathe celery. Can't even stand the smell of it. But when I was preggers, ate it like candy. As soon as Clayton came out, I hated it again. Go figure.

Okay this made me laugh out loud. Limes? Really? I love it. So random :) Go ahead and have a sombrero on hand at the little one's birth... might go well with the Mexican theme you're starting. Hope everything's going great!
